Jean Knight

Jean Knight, age 70, passed away peacefully in her sleep and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Dove House in Westminster, Maryland.

Born December 17, 1945 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to William K. and Cora E. Simms, she moved to Maryland as a child and met the love of her life, Richard, when he asked her to go steady with a $1.99 friendship ring from a local store. They married in 1966 and 50 years later celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 18, 2016.

A devoted and hardworking individual, Jean recently celebrated her 45th anniversary with the Federal Government as a Project Manager for the General Counsel of the Food and Drug Administration. She was loved by everyone she worked with, from the lowest to the highest level, and was constantly praised for her excellent work and dedication to the job.

Jean is survived by her beloved husband, Richard C., daughter Karen M., son Richard M. and his wife Lara M., and her two wonderful grandchildren, Lucy S. and Colby R., whom she adored above everything else and allowed her to serve in the role she was absolutely born for, to be their doting Grammy.

At Jean's request, there will be no public memorial. Please contact the family for any private celebrations of her life which are being planned.
