Jean Griffith

Jean E. "Grandma" (Rowe) Griffith, 82, of Boonsboro, Maryland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning, October 10, 2011 at her daughter's home in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born on July 17, 1929 in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Eva A. (Dagenhart) Rowe. Her husband, Elmer T. "Pete" Griffith preceded her in death on July 1, 2001.
Jean worked for Londontowne Manufacturing in Boonsboro, retiring after twenty eight years of service. After her retirement, Jean worked at Sheetz, Inc. No. 209 in Boonsboro as a coffee hostess for thirteen years and at the Boonsboro Family Worship Center in the daycare center until her illness.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy and her husband Ralph Lapole of Hagerstown and Rose Shoop of Boonsboro; five sons, Elmer Griffith, Jr. of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, Robert Griffith, John Griffith and his wife Debbie, Timothy Griffith and Scott Griffith all of Boonsboro. She is also survived by a sister, Yonna and her husband Melvin Palmer of Myersville, Md and a brother, John Rowe and his wife Shirley of Maugansville, Md. In addition, she is survived by fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Eugene Griffith, Sr.; a sister Geneva Rowe and a brother DeWitt Rowe.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Boonsboro Family Worship Center, 7605 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Jack C. Payne, Jr. will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery in Boonsboro.
Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
