Jean Gochenour

Jean Gochenour (Wetzel), 77, of Thurmont, Maryland, died peacefully at home on Friday, December 29, 2017, where she resided with her husband, Donald Lee Gochenour for over 48 years.

Born on September 15, 1940, in Highfield, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Hazel K. Wetzel.

She was employed by the Daughters of Charity at St. Joseph's Provincial House in Emmitsburg, MD for 40 years until her retirement in 2005.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gochenour is survived by 4 children, Debra Green and her husband Roy of Frederick, MD, Donald Gochenour, Jr. and his wife Darci of Hagerstown, MD, David Gochenour and his wife Kathy of Waynesboro, PA, and Marianne Sumner and her husband Butch of Thurmont, MD. A special grandson, Timothy and his wife Jana of Blue Ridge Summit along with 4 other grandchildren, Natasha, Michael, Katie and Amanda. She is also survived by several step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren with special mention to Drew and Mason; 6 sisters, Joyce Tressler, Joan Leeper, Judy McCleaf, Shirley Young, Linda Rowe and Barb Benjamin; and 1 brother, Ronald Wetzel.

She is predeceased by 3 sisters, Doris Wetzel, Janet Tressler and Cindy Wetzel; and 1 brother, Richard Wetzel.

Services and interment will be held at a later date.
