Jay Harris

Jerry "Jay" Harris Jr., 52, of Middletown, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, December 17, 2017.  He was the husband of Kimberly Harris.  Born on March 1, 1965, in Frederick, he was the son of Jerry Calvin Harris and Janie (Tregoning) Harris-Crone.

Jay was devoted to his wife and daughters as well to his plumbing business and cattle.  He enjoyed working on the farm and growing a garden.  He was a skilled worker and mechanically inclined.  He had a tough exterior, but a soft heart and was willing to help those in need.  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by daughters Kristen Buchanan and husband Mike of Falling Waters, WV and Khara Harris and her significant other, Jeff Geiser, step-parents Mark Crone and Maggie Hahn-Harris, brothers Rusty Harris and Johnny Harris and wife Julie as well as a niece and several nephews.

He is survived by wife, Kimberly Harris, father, Jerry Calvin Harris, Sr., mother, Janie Harris-Crone.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.  A celebration of Jay's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.  Rev. Monsignor Robert J. Jaskot will officiate.
