Mr. Jay Parnell Caniford, 47 of Brunswick, MD passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Georgetown University Hospital.
Born September 8, 1967 in Charles Town, West Virginia he was the son of the late Robert and Lillie Caniford.
Jay was employed with the City of Frederick at the Water Treatment Plant. He graduate from Brunswick High School in 1985.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Eagles and the American Legion all in Brunswick.
Jay dedicated his time and loved coaching football for the Brunswick Junior Railroaders. He loved hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors.
He is survived by his loving girlfriend Patti Browning Burdette and her daughter Lindsay Burdette, a sister, Faye Broxson and husband Ross and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also be remembered by his special friends, Jeff Jones, Jeff Smith, Chris Dorsey, Big "Jim" Stewart and Troy Remsburg and the boys from the Learch Ranch.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Gill Caniford and Patti's son, T.J. Burdette.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Friday, September 19th from 2-4 and 6-9pm. Funeral services celebrating Jay's life will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 12:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. Tim May officiating.
Interment will be private.
