Janine (Hagner) Thomas, 55, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born on October 31, 1959, in Montgomery County, Maryland, she is the daughter of Josia (Hodge) Hagner and the late Walter Hagner.
Janine attended the old Robert E. Perry High School in Rockville, Maryland. After graduation, she continued her education and received her degree as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick.
Janine worked as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for many years and took great pride in what she did. She was great at her job and many patients requested her specifically for their tests. Most recently, she was employed by American Radiology in Frederick.
She loved to be with her family and friends. She also enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together, watching movies, reading, walking, gardening, and yardsaling.
Janine is survived by her loving husband, Gary Thomas, whom she married on January 14, 2000; her daughter, Rebecca Tangredi of Frederick; her son William Thomas of Frederick, Maryland; her honorary daughter Jesse Maphis of Gaithersburg, Maryland; her four sisters, Elaine Graf of Burke, Virginia, Diane May of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Jackie Maphis, Janine's identical twin, of Rockville, Maryland, and Kit Unger of Vienna, Virginia. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 131 West Second Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701. Rev. Alice Ford will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Rockville, Maryland.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
