Miss Janice Gail Lape, 55 of Frederick, Maryland, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
Born November 13, 1957 in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Dolores Stahl Lape of Davidsville, PA.
Janice was employed as a health care recruiter at the Shady Grove Adventist Rehabilation Hospital for 8 years. Prior she was employed at various other health care facilities throughout PA. Janice was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren and also sang in the choir. She was an avid birdwatcher, enjoyed golfing, reading, biking, skiing, exercise and making stain glass. She was also a very active volunteer in the Frederick County Community.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her partner Sharon Jacko, her siblings William Lape and wife Ruth, Jeffrey Lape and wife Sharon and Kevin Lape and his late wife Carol, her niece Lauren McDade and husband Shawn and nephews Daniel, Christopher, Austin, Steven, Andrew and Jonathan Lape and her great nephew Hudson William McDade. She will also be remembered by her roommate Jeanne Jacko and Mary Louise Livella and Patricia Drugo..
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 18, from 6-9:00 pm at the Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Avenue, Frederick, MD. An additional viewing will be held, at the church, from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 19, with Pastor Sandi Rogers officiating.
Interment Maple Spring Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
