Janice (Jan) Kay Conley, 77, formerly of Belmont, Ohio, now of Mt. Airy, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.
Born on June 13, 1947, in Barnesville, OH. She was the daughter of the late Clarence (Doc) W. Saffell, Jr. and Doris Lee (Clay) Saffell.
Jan was a graduate of Union Local HS. Also, a graduate of the Maryland Medical Secretarial School in Hagerstown, MD and attended University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD to become a Medical Secretarial Assistant.
Jan was a member of East Richland Friends Church in St. Clairsville, OH. She loved to read, loved her flowers and gardening, enjoyed watching her hummingbirds and other birds and loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren.
Jan is survived by her husband of 56 years, Milton Daniel Conley, of Mt. Airy, MD; her son, Arick and daughter-in-law, Laura, of Gaithersburg, MD; Grandson, Keith, of New Market, MD; Grandson, Kyle (Jazmin), of Frederick, MD; and Granddaughter, Katherine “Katie”, of Gaithersburg, MD; special aunt, Carolyn Fraley; and many other family and friends.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence “Doc” and Doris Saffell, aunts, Virginia Van Dyne and Lois Bugay, cousin, Lori Wines, brother-in-law, Rick Conley, and other dear family members and friends.
A Graveside service will be held on November 15, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Parklawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 12800 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD 20853, and will be officiated by Pastor Dennis Felder.
The family will receive family and friends at a celebration luncheon of Jan’s life journey following the graveside service at Upper Seneca Baptist Church located at 23401 Davis Mill Road, Germantown, MD 20876, on November 15, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. If you can’t attend the Graveside service, please come and join us at the celebration luncheon.
