Janice Braun

Janice (Jan) Braun, 82, died on March 20, at her home in Country Meadows of Frederick, under the care of staff there, and Carroll Hospice.  She was the wife to the late Charles E Braun.  She was born on April 1, 1934, in Paterson, NJ.

Jan married Charles on October 1, 1955.  They were married for 49 years, until his passing in 2004.  Jan had many jobs throughout her life from Bell Atlantic in New Jersey to Executive Assistant at Fairchild Industries in Germantown, Maryland.  Upon Charles’ retirement in 1987, they moved to Florida, where Jan continued to work as an Executive Assistant at AT&T American Transtech in Jacksonville, before finally retiring in the early 1990’s.  She returned to Frederick in 2013 to take advantage of the many options provided by life in a retirement community.

She is survived by her daughters: Charlene Testerman and late husband Leonard; granddaughter Heather, and great grandson Tristan, of Frederick; Cheryl Cox and husband Joe, Brookeville, MD; Cynthia Brewer and husband Harry; and granddaughter Hannah, Princeton, IL.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service - Celebration of Life Ceremony on April 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with light refreshments to follow the service.  The service will be held at Country Meadows of Frederick, 5955 Quinn Orchard Rd., Frederick, MD 21704.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jan’s name may be made to the Country Meadows Employee Foundation; checks can be made out to Country Meadows in care of the Employee Foundation, and sent to the above address.  Alternatively, donations can be made in Jan’s name to Carroll Hospice, which relies on donations to fund their services.  Checks can be sent to Carroll Hospice Inc., 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD. 21157 (CarrollHospice.org).
