Janet "Janice" Campbell Brown, 96, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Homewood at Crumland Farms in Frederick, MD. She was the beloved wife of the late George Southwell Brown.
Born October 16, 1921, in Motherwell, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late William and Jessie Graham.
Janice came to the US at the age of 16 on the Queen Mary. She married George (aka "Brownie") and raised three children. She worked at Lerner Shops for many years. The family would spend their summers at a cottage they owned in Isle of Palms, SC. Janice was fond of writing poetry, gardening and attending church. She adored her many cats that she had over the years.
Janice is survived by a son, Harry (Butch) Brown of Swanton, MD, and two daughters, Dorothy Brown of Laurel, DE, and Patricia Jordan of Frederick, MD. As well as three granddaughters, Christine Jordan of Bethesda, MD, Tina Brown of Las Vegas, NV, and Tara Lehtonen of Knoxville, MD. She also had two great-grandsons.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Madison of Isle of Palms, SC, and her brother, Robert Graham of Goose Creek, SC.
Services have already been held, but memorial donations may be made to "Flying Fur Animal Rescue".
