Janet Elizabeth "Liz" Geiser, 77 died February 5th, 2015 at FMH. She was born October 6th, 1937 in Parkersburg, WV. She was the daughter of the late Rex William and Vera Brethauer Andrews. She was also the step-daughter of the late H. Brooke Lawson. For over 58 years she was the wife and best friend of Thomas M. Geiser. In addition to her husband she is survived by daughters Wendy Sue Crutchley and Julie Blayne Darr husband Mike, two grandchildren who were the joy of her life Jacob Edward and Elizabeth Blayne Darr. She also leaves behind a brother John B. Lawson and wife Janice she was Aunt Janet and Aunt Lizzie to many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by many many friends as she never met a stranger.
Janet was predeceased by her son Michael T. Geiser and son in-law C. Thomas Crutchley.
She graduated in 1955 from St. John's High School in Frederick, married the love of her life in 1956 and started her family. After her children were grown she worked as a cashier at A & P and later for quite a few years at Safeway. In 1988 she joined her husband's business and managed 3 laundromats until her retirement in 2009. While working she also took care of her grandchildren and cared for many ailing family members and friends that were like family. She always had a big smile on her face and a huge heart full of love for all that knew her.
She was a very avid Baltimore Oriole's fan and after the Baltimore Colt's left Baltimore she rooted for the Steelers and the Manning brothers. Her hobbies included bingo and shuffle board bowling with friends at the Amvets Post #2 in Frederick where she was a life member.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday, February 20th from 6:00-9:00pm. A Celebration of Janet’s life will be on Saturday, February 21st at the funeral home at 11:00am.
