Janet Corbridge

Janet Corbridge passed from this life on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Tranquillity of Fredericktowne at the age of 86.
Born on May 22, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Marjorie (McAllister) Ballentine and Richard Ballentine. She grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and then the University of Colorado in Boulder.
Janet was a homemaker, a devoted mother to her three children, and a freelance writer. As a young woman, she was a flight attendant for United Airlines. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing book reviews. A lover of warm weather, Janet lived for many years in Scottsdale, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Maryland in 2014.
Janet is predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Jane Corbridge of San Clemente, California. She is survived by her children, Amy Corbridge Stone and husband Jeff of Jefferson, Maryland and her son Rick Corbridge of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by grandsons Collin Stone and wife Brooke of Frederick, Adam Stone and Bradley Stone of Baltimore, and Michael Corbridge of Las Vegas. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Richard Ballentine and wife Susan of Atlanta, Georgia, and nieces Jennifer Ballentine-Kelsey and Lara Anderson.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff of Tranquillity Assisted Living for their dedication, kindness and love over the past 5 and a half years.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
