Janet Carol Carson, age 69, a Washington County resident since 2002, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at her home following a nearly three-month battle with liver and pancreatic cancer.
Born and raised on a farm in Nebraska, she earned a BS degree in elementary education from the University of Nebraska and, subsequently, a MSW degree from the University of Maryland.
She is survived by her husband, John, with whom she recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They are the parents of two adult sons, John W. of Hagerstown, and Paul F. of Manassas, VA. Paul and his wife Linda are the parents of Janet's only two grandchildren, Julia, age 11, and Olivia, age 8.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Beaver Creek, followed by burial in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
