Janet Barton

Janet Barton, 70, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed away peacefully the evening of Friday, August 2, 2024.

Born on December 17, 1953, in Latrobe, PA, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Julia (Dumnich) Cardelli. She graduated from Latrobe High School and attended Slippery Rock University, and the Wheeler School, where she studied fashion and business.

Janet worked for General Motors and Robert's Oxygen for the majority of her working career. She was always known for her big heart and fabulous sense of style. She loved bright colors and all the animal prints! In her younger years, she enjoyed playing tennis and swimming. 

Janet and the love of her life, George, spent every summer at their favorite vacation spot, North Myrtle Beach. They were married for 45 wonderful years when George passed in March 2020. She enjoyed her retirement and spending time with her grandchildren, watching them grow up. 

She is survived by her daughter, Lindsey Cissel and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Kamden and Karter Cissel; her two siblings, Judy Brown (Richard) and Phyllis Contic. 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 8 East Ridgeville in Mt. Airy, MD.
