Jane N. Welch, 89, the beloved wife of the late Ralph Welch LCDR. USN Ret. and formerly of Deland, FL, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Jane was born March 18, 1925 in Boston, MA, to the late Vahan and Nancy Khachatourian and became a member of the Armenian Apostolic Faith. Upon her husband's retirement she moved with him and her family to Central FL in 1970. She was a proud American and Navy wife. She was also a successful business woman and restaurant owner. Jane traveled the world. She loved dancing and won several competitions. She was survived by one brother, Toros Khachatourian of Winter Park, FL. She was a loving mother and grandmother and also survived by her children; Nanci Strother of Middletown, MD ; Larry Welch of Salinas, CA; and Richard Welch of City Island, NY; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her interment is a Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
