Jane Minekime

Jane Marie Minekime, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed from this life on December 20, 2018  at Lorien in Mount Airy, MD.

Born on June 1, 1930, in Lawtons, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harlem  Velzy and Geneva  (Sager) Velzy.

She was the beloved wife of Wesley E. Minekime, her husband of  46 years.

She attended North Collins (NY) Central School, class of 1946.

Jane was a longtime member of Collins (NY) Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, as well as a longtime member of Collins Center (NY) United Methodist Church. She was also a member and treasurer of United Methodist Women at church and member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 409 in Gowanda, New York. In her spare time she loved to sew and bake.

She is survived by her sons, Norman E. Minekime and his wife Cheryl (Allen) Minekime, James W. Minekime and his wife Carole (Koepnick) Minekime; grandchildren, Jonathan Minekime and his wife Ashley Minekime and Christine Minekime; great grandson, Wesley C. Minekime;  siblings, Walter Velzy of Lawtons, New York

Relatives and friends are invited to call the Wentland Funeral Home, 10634 Main Street North Collins, New York on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will be held at North Collins Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Collins (NY) Volunteer Fire Company.
