Jane Bowman

Jane L. (Miller) Bowman, 89, a resident of the Cottages at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village, passed from this life on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at her home.

Born on, December 16, 1921 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas O. and Hazel M. (Rohrer) Miller.  Her husband, Lewis E. Bowman, preceded her in death in 1971.

Jane attended the Beaver Creek and Boonsboro High Schools.

She was employed for over 30 years as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village.

Jane was a member of the Beaver Creek Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Beaver Creek, Maryland where she was active on many committees.

She is survived by three sisters, V. June Schmidt of Boonsboro, Betty Russo of South Bend, Indiana, and Sarah Herrmann of Boonsboro; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Jane was preceded in death by two sisters, Berneta Garvin and Aldine Orrison; and three brothers, Orville, Roger and Preston Miller.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  Rev. Mark M. Curran will officate.  Final Resting Place ceremonies will follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery in Beaver Creek.

Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the funeral home.
