Jan Sun

Jan Mai Sun, 80, of Frederick, MD passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Frederick Health Hospital.

Jan is survived by her five sons: William, Samuel, David, Benjamin, and Albert; and nine grandchildren: Scott, Christopher, Jeffrey, Sean, Amanda, Elizabeth, Abigail, Henry, and Spencer. She is preceded in death by her husband John, mother Lan Jin Lee, and father Meu Siong Lay.

Jan was born and raised in Dili, East Timor, and married John in Dili in June 1962.  John and Jan proceeded to travel to the Republic of China on their way to the United States in 1964. Jan worked various jobs while raising her five children. Jan's last position was as a housekeeper at Frederick Memorial Hospital, where she retired in 2018. She enjoyed cooking and eating a variety of delicious foods.

Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 9 AM.
