Jamie Rankin

May 26, 1942 — February 21, 2018

Jamie W. (Warner) Rankin, 75, of New Market passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Lorien Assisted Living in Mount Airy where she received excellent care from a wonderful staff.  She was married to Robert R. Rankin for over 58 years.

Born on May 26, 1942, in Jacksonville, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Captain Rex W. Warner and Nancy Mosely Warner.  As the eldest sibling in a Navy family, she travelled extensively throughout her childhood.  She met her husband in Lake Barcroft, VA in 1958.  They married October 29, 1959 and had been inseparable ever since.

Jamie worked as a medical secretary until her retirement.  She was very active in her church, singing in the choir and with the Centennial Belles (Pat, Mary Ann, Marlee, Janet and Madeline) and leading the youth group for many years.  She also spent many rewarding years as a Hospice volunteer.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Robert W Rankin (wife Teresa) and C Kimberly Young (husband James); her grandchildren, Kevin W Rinehart (girlfriend Sarah Sauter) and Kyle W Rankin (wife Cassandra, son Jax and daughter Kira); her siblings, Nancy Burgess (husband Pete) and Rex Warner Jr.; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Margaret Rankin; niece, Cindy Rankin and nephews, Jason Rankin, Ben Warner, and Alex Warner, and many great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sister Anne M Warner and sister-in-law, Anne C Warner.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, P.A., 1621 Opposumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. A celebration of her life’s journey will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 3rd at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to in Jamie’s memory to your local Hospice or to Centennial Memorial United Methodist Church, 8 W 2nd Street, Frederick MD 21701.
