James {Sonny} Willard Farling, Sr.
April 15, 1941 — September 13, 2009
Mr. James Sonny Willard Farling, Sr. chose a beautiful fall day to go home to the comfort of God. He passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2009.
Born April 15, 1941 in Bakerton, WV he was the beloved son of the late Charles and Genevieve Farling.
While he enjoyed fishing, and hunting, his love of God, family and friends was priceless.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Farling, son, James Farling, Jr and wife Cynthia, a daughter, Teresa Boone and husband Melvin, son, Timothy Farling and wife Jenna. He was blessed in life with his grandchildren, Tara Farling, Dustin Farling, Carl Boone, David Boone and Maddelena Farling. He is also survived by one brother, Charles Farling of Wrentham, MA and several nieces and nephews. Sonny is remembered by life long and special friend Al McCraken.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Farling.
Visitation: Friends may call on Wednesday September 16, from 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville.
Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday September 17, at 1:00pm. Pastor Linda Lambert will officiate. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, Libertytown.
