Mr. James P. McRorie, 77, of Urbana died on Monday, May 5, 2008, at Washington Hospital Center. He was husband of Romualda C. McRorie, his wife of 51 years.
Born on May 26, 1930 in North Carolina he was the son of the late Clyde F. and Ellen Phillips McRorie. He was a senior design draftsman for COMSAT. James served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. McRorie was the former president of the Urbana Lions Club and a member of the American Legion in Lanham. He was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening being especially proud of his tomatoes.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Monica Lester and husband Bob of Carlisle, PA, Philip L. McRorie of Keedysville, Theresa Cullen and husband Larry of Sarasota, FL and Juliana Kelley and husband Paul of Monrovia; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Hein and husband Richard of Silver Spring. Mr. McRorie was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Davis; a brother, Edward M McRorie; and, his daughter-in-law, Kathleen McRorie.

Services: Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at St. Joseph's on Carrollton Manor Catholic Church Cemetery, 5843 Manor Woods Rd., Buckeystown, with Rev. Michael Jendrek officiating.
