James M. Hicks, Jr.

Mr. James M. Hicks, Jr., 82 of Frederick, MD, died Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Elaine Hicks.

Born May 30, 1926 in Washington, D. C., he was the son of the late James M, Sr, and Katherine Fugitt Hicks.

Mr. Hicks served his country during WWII in the U. S. Navy. He retired as a police officer from the Washington, D. C. Police Force after 22 years and later worked as a police officer for the F.F.A. at Dulles Airport. He was a member of the F.O.P . and the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Hr is survived by three children Bruce A. Hicks and wife Sherry of Woodbridge, VA, Brian J. Hicks and wife Laura of Frederick and Rosemarie C. Warren and husband Bill of Gaithersburg, nine grandchildren Kaelea Williams, Kelsey Neighbors, Toni, Tyler, Madeline, Katherine, and Jeremy Hicks, and Kimberly and Nicole Warren. He will also be remembered by his first wife Joan Hicks.

He was preceded in death by two sisters Betty Edmunds and Katherine Wurlitzer.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, on Thursday, October 9, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.

Services: Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 11th at 11:00 a.m., from the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Chapel, South Market Street, Frederick, MD
