James Lee {Hoody} Hood

Mr. James Lee Hoody Hood, 56, of Mt. Airy passed away on May 23, 2008 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by Paula A. Hood, his wife of 33 magnificent years together.

Born on April 29, 1952 in Marion, Indiana he was the son of James Edward Hood of Wheaton, MD, and Margaret Jean Callen of Charlotte Court House, VA.

Mr. Hood was a 1971 graduate of Wheaton High School. He was an active member of the Wheaton and New Market Maryland Fire Departments.

He was employed for 32 years by Hahn Transportation of New Market, MD where he was a professional tractor trailer driver.

James was an avid football and NASCAR fan, and also enjoyed bird watching. He enjoyed time spent with his wife at their retreat in Dryfork, WV.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a grandmother Irma Alber of Gas City, Indiana. Brothers Frank C. Hood and wife Carol of Smithsburg, MD, and William Wayne ( Bill) Callen of Clifton Park, NY. Sisters Luanne Smith and husband Randolph of Frederick, MD and Laura Caffrey and husband Frank of Mt. Airy, MD. He is also survived by ten nieces, eight nephews, five great nieces, two great nephews, five aunts, three uncles and numerous cousins.

Visitation: Friends may call on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from Noon until 9:00pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, Maryland 21771, and on Wednesday, May 28 from 4-8pm at the Hinkle Funeral Home, 567 Thomas Avenue, Davis, West Virginia.

Services: Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 11:00am at the Arthurdale Presbyterian Church, Arthurdale, West Virginia.
Interment will be in Arthurdale Cemetery, Arthurdale, WV.
