James "Jimmy" Mock

James "Jimmy" Mathew Mock, 75, of Frederick died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was the loving husband to Linda Mock, whom he married at the age of 17 on September 16, 1961.
Born on October 4, 1943 near Point of Rocks, he was the son of the late Armstead Areynold Mock and Mary Ellen (Fisher) Mock.
Jimmy worked as a cab dispatcher early on for many years, as well as painted city cabs with longtime friend, Jerry Wood. He later worked as a union carpenter retiring in 2008. He had a general interest in classic cars, enjoyed watching and going to NASCAR racing and taking trips to Ocean City with life long sweetheart Linda.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Robert Mock and wife, Annie; Terry Brigham and husband, Alvie; and Dawn Mock and fiancé, Jeff Hood; 10 grandchildren, Steven Brigham, Andrew Brigham, Robert James Mock, TJ Leopold, Daniel James Brigham, Matthew Charles Mock, Jessica Mary Prince, Brittany Elaine Sourbier, Kacie Ann Prince, and Cody Mathew Prince; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Lamm; sister-in-law, Sylvia Mock; acquired daughter and son, Tina and Dave Adkins; and longtime friend, Helen Smith.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Kathrine Mock and Monzella Repass; and brother, Marvin Mock.
The family extends their appreciation to the staff at FMH ICU, Hospice unit, and the staff at the James M. Stockman Cancer Institute for the loving care given to Jimmy during his illness.
A celebration of his life will begin at 3 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Debbie Gillispie, pastor of Solid Rock Assembly of God.
