Mr. James “Jim” Monroe Tressler, 82, of Union Bridge, MD., passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Kline Hospice House. He was the husband of the late Betty Jane Shipley Tressler.
Born December 23, 1928 in Buckeystown, MD., he was the son of the late Samuel Grover, Sr., and Rena Bell Wachter Tressler.
Mr. Tressler was a farmer until 1977 and then was owner and operator of Tressler Milk Transport until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters Rena Downs of Bunker Hill, WV, Rose Redden and husband Michael of Union Bridge, MD and a son James Tressler, Jr. of Keymar, MD, grandchildren Jason, Tanya, Holly, Mike, Jr., John, Amanda, Cheyenne, James,III (Gordy), Jessica and Angelica, great grandchildren Josh, Abriana, Makayla, Kaylnn, Jade and Troy, and a sister Mary Bollinger of Honolulu, Hawaii. Also survived by many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Florence Magaha, Guy Tressler, Samuel Tressler, Jr., Hammond Tressler, Garl Tressler, Paul Tressler, Lillian Pasquette and Eleanor Tressler.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, on Wednesday, April 6, from 2-4 and 6 -8 pm, where services will be held Thursday, April 7, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Lloyd Fuss officiating.
