James "Jim" Parker

Mr. James "Jim" Burton Parker, 69, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, September 17, 2106 at his home.  He was the beloved husband of Norene Parker, having just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in April.

Born December 13, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan he was the son of the late Rex and Joyce Poston Parker.

Jim proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.  Prior to his retirement he owned and operated J.B. Parker Contractors Inc. for 30 plus years.  Jim was an avid golfer at Holly Hills Country Club for over three decades as well.  During his younger years he enjoyed hunting and was a licensed pilot.  Jim was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Rex Parker and wife Renee of Mt. Airy, Beth Demers of Halethorpe; grandchildren Ann and Meg DeLise and Beau, Dominic and Calli Parker; loving mother-in-law Margaret Lemma; sisters Diane Brocki and Phyllis Redifer; sister-in-law Carol Caughlin.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 2-3PM where a memorial service will begin at 3PM.  Rev. Tim May will officiate.

Interment will be private.
