Mr. James “Jim” C. Miller, Jr., 53 of Thurmont, MD went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 3, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Diana Miller, his wife of 25 years.
Born January 1, 1960 in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of Mary Ellen Eiler Miller of Thurmont and the late James “Pete” C. Miller, Sr.
Jim attended the Frederick Church of Brethren. He had an enormous faith and lived his life for the love of God.
He and his wife Diana are proud owners of Eunice’s Restaurant on Route 15. He was a great carpenter and enjoyed furniture making. He enjoyed fishing with his brother and always loved working in his yard.
Jim’s pride and joy was his family. He loved spending time with his family especially his newest grandson, Noah.
In addition to his loving wife Diana and his mother, Mary, he is survived by his brother, Larry Miller and wife, Michele and two sisters, Lillian Goodsell and husband Raymond and Helen Fraley and husband Robert, his five children, Shawn Davis and wife Anne of Georgia, Dawn Brown of Martinsburg, WV, Carmen Rice and husband Donnie of Thurmont, Amy Davis and Eric Eichelberger and Jamie Miller and fiancé Sean Kelly of Florida, his first and special granddaughter, Jillian Dishion, ten loving grandchildren, Dylan, Emily, Elizabeth, Brett, Christian, Josiah, Micah, Kalista, Eian and Noah. He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Janice Reckley.
The family will receive friends at the Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Ave., Frederick on Sunday, January 6th from 2-4 and 6-8PM.
A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Monday, January 7th, 2013 at 1:00PM at the Frederick Church of the Brethren with Pastor Paul Mundey officiating. The family asks that you wear bright colored clothing to help celebrate his life.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Larry Miller, Sean Kelly, Glenn Miller, Eric Eichelberger, Donnie Rice and Harvey Miller.
