James Vorce, Sr.

James W. Vorce, Sr., 81, of Keedysville, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at his home while surrounded by his family.
Born on June 27, 1933, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, he was the son of the late Clinton H. and Anna G. (Lynch) Vorce.
James was a 1951 graduate from Hyattsville High School.
He worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local #26.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan R. (Blurton) Vorce; three daughters, Joan Chall and husband John of Crownsville, Maryland, Teresa Butler and husband Michael of Columbia Maryland, and Julie Thompson and husband Ken of Charlestown, West Virginia; three sons, James Vorce, Jr. and wife Wendy of Laurel, Maryland, Tim Vorce and wife Teresa of Ellicott City, Maryland, and Jeff Vorce of Columbia, Maryland; his twin brother, John Vorce of Bowie, Maryland; sixteen grandchildren, Joelle, Jenn, Julie, Justin, Adam, Jim, Laura, Hunter, Logan, Kristin, Sarah, Stephanie, Katrina, Alyssa, Hannah, and Mariah; and eleven great grandchildren, Kaylee, Connor, Collin, Brayden, Abrielle, Porter, Landon, Max, David, Sophie, and Olivia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four sisters, Genevieve, Roseann, Neen, and Marge.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Duane R. Musgrove will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Keedysville, Maryland.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the funeral home.
