Mr. James H. Vollmer, 60, of Frederick, Maryland, died suddenly Monday, May 26, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of Sandra Long Vollmer.
Born November 11, 1953 in Annapolis, MD, he was the son of Lourdes Correia Vollmer of FL and the late Harold F. Vollmer.
Mr. Vollmer was a security guard and athletics coach for the Montgomery County Public Schools for 35 years. Coaching was a large part of Jim’s life. In addition, he was commissioner for cross-country and track and field officials for the past 32 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #11.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two children Kristin and Jessica of N.C., his siblings Richard Vollmer of RI, Michael Vollmer of MO, Debbie Stewart and husband James of FL , and David Vollmer of FL, Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Monday, June 2, from 7-9 pm. Also a viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 3, from 10-11 am at Wildwood Baptist Church, 10200 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD follow by the Funeral Service from 11-12 pm. with Pastor David Sayne officiating.
Interment Wildwood Baptist Church Cemetery.
