James Edward Routzahn, 72, of Hagerstown, Maryland, recently a resident of Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, passed from this life to the next on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born on February 7, 1941, in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Page Edward and Minnie Elizabeth (Flook) Routzahn.
James attended the Middletown High School. He worked as a drywall contractor and also enjoyed farming.
He was a member of the Antrim Faith Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and most recently attended the Victory Baptist Church in Boonsboro.
James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith A. (Moser) Routzahn; one daughter, Sherry Carson and husband Gary of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; one son, Timothy Wayne Routzahn and wife Connie of Smithsburg, Maryland; three brothers, Harold Routzahn and wife Dottie of Fairplay, Maryland, Roy Routzahn and Mary Beth of Clear Spring, Maryland, and Wayne Routzahn and wife Cindy of Woodsboro, Maryland. He is also survived by two grandsons, Tucker and Kegan Routzahn.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Victory Baptist Church, 8014 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. Edward J. Wade will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Salem United Methodist Cemetery in Wolfsville, Maryland.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, as well as one-half hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
