James Alan Montgomery

James Alan Montgomery, age 76, of Thurmont, passed away on Saturday October 28, 2023, at his home. 

He was born on December 6, 1946, in Washington, D.C., the son of the late John and Gladys (Gover) Montgomery. He was raised in Alexandria, VA. 

He married Vicki (Nelson) on June 26, 1982.  The couple were married for 41 years.  

Jim enjoyed weightlifting, gardening, and hiking in the woods. Above all, he was a devoted husband and loving father. 

He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of Thurmont, son, Michael (Mary Beth) Montgomery of Frederick, grandson, Maxwell Montgomery of Frederick, and sister, Janet (Richard) Lombardi of Bowie, MD. He is proceeded in death by his parents, and brother Richard Montgomery.

Funeral Services will be held on Nov 7th, 2023 at 11:00 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service. After the service, the family invites guests to Grace Community Church 5102 Old National Pike Frederick, MD 21702 for lunch. Interment will be in the Woodville Cemetery in Waseca, MN at a later date.
