Mr. James B. Miller, Jr. 66 of Walkersville, Maryland passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012. He was the husband of Carol Miller.
Born May 26, 1946 in Harrisburg, PA James was the son of the late James B. Miller and Beryl Baumbach Miller.
James was retired from the United States Army after 20 years. He served in Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart, in addition to tours in Korea, Belgium, Italy, and several Stateside tours including Ft. Detrick ,MD. He was a graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School, PA. and a graduate of California Coast University, CA. , with a B.S. in Business Management. He also retired as a computer software engineer from Raytheon.
James enjoyed archery fishing and hunting. He was President of Bridgeport Gunning Club and was an instructor for youth archery at Tuscarora Archers.
In addition to his loving wife Carol he is survived by his two children, Eric Miller and wife Melita of Frederick and Holly Loy and husband Kevin of Hagerstown, four grandchildren, Robert Miller, Isabella Miller, Ethan Miller and Wilson Loy, a brother, Thomas Miller and wife Diane, niece, Mairin Smith and husband Jake and an uncle, Bob Baumbach and wife Dorthia.
A memorial service celebrating James’ life will be held on Wednesday, October 3 at 11:00AM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville with The Rev. Edward L. Poling officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 10:00 until service time.
Inurnment with military honors will follow at Glade Cemetery, Walkersville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James’s name to the American Heart Association 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
