Mr. James Vernon Miller, 79, of Frederick, MD died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Homewood at Crumland Farms. He was the loving husband of 56 years to Emily H. Miller.
He was born May 14, 1934 in Union Bridge, MD. Mr. Miller was greatly admired by his peers for his strong work ethic. Upon moving to Homewood at Crumland Farms six years ago, he remained very active in the community. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Susan Lanphar and her husband, Ralph; as well as a sister, Catherine Clark.
He was predeceased by his son, Ricky Miller.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Peace in Christ Lutheran Church, 8798 Adventure Ave., Walkersville, MD 21793. Officiating will be the Rev. David Weber.
Interment will be private.
