James Johnson

June 3, 2017 — June 27, 2017

James Matthew Johnson, age 3 weeks, unexpectedly passed away on June 27 at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Born on June 3, 2017, he is the beloved son of Matthew Stephen Johnson and Elizabeth Marie (Greene) Johnson and the adored brother of William, age 2.

James was named in honor of three outstanding men: his great-grandfather, uncle, and father.  James will always be remembered for his full head of hair, big hands and feet, patient temper, sweet snuggles, and for the joy he brought to his family.  His family is so thankful for the time they had with James and greatly anticipates seeing him again in Heaven where he is already rejoicing with family, friends, and their Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to his parents and brother, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Pastor R. and Debbie Greene of Middletown, MD, Uncle Chris and Aunt Rachel and cousins Judah and Rowan Greene of Birmingham, AL, Uncle James Greene of Southern Pines, NC, and Uncle Josh Greene of Middletown, MD and paternal grandparents, the Honorable Stephen and Debbie Johnson of Frederick, MD, great-grandfather William Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC, great-grandmother June Jones of Frederick, MD, Aunt Carrie and Uncle Jeremy and cousins Carter, Luke, and Brayden Jenkins of Waterford, VA, and Aunt Allison Johnson and cousins MeKayla and Kaden Wells of Middletown, Maryland. He is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents Pastor James and Dorothy Dixon and Ottis and Ruth Greene and paternal great-grandparents John Jones and Nell Johnson.  James is deeply loved by many other family and friends.

While Matthew and Betsy request your prayers and support, the funeral and burial will be private. James will be buried at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Middletown, Maryland.
