James Henderson, Sr.

James Harrell Henderson, Sr., known to his family and friends as Jim Henderson,  85, of 18809 Mount Lock Hill Rd, Sharpsburg, MD, passed away peacefully Friday, April 17, 2020, at Doey’s House, Hagerstown, MD. Born November 28, 1934 in Wynne, Ark. He was the son of the late James (Willie) Henderson and Goldie Mae Cox Henderson. He was the husband of over 40 years to the late Bertha Frances Martin Henderson, who passed away on January 16, 2000. Grandfather to the late James Garrett Henderson, Jonathan Robert Henderson and James (Willie) Henderson.
Jim was retired from ManaCare Inc. as a construction superintendent for 35 years. He loved to hunt, fish, and ride his Harley with his many friends.  He enjoyed taking his beloved dog, Missy for rides in his Chevy SSR Roadster.
He is survived by his sons, James H. Henderson Jr. of Lost city, W.Va., Robert L. Henderson Sr. and wife, Barb of Sharpsburg, MD., daughters, Catherine L. Akers and husband, Chris of Broque, PA., Bonnie L. Hartog and husband, Terry of Milan, ILL., and Wanda Trosper of CA., and sister, Willie Mae Scanlon of Seat Pleasant, MD. Jim was also survived by 14 beloved grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be at a later date.
