James T. "Junior" Draper, Jr., 83, a resident of The Village at Robinwood and formerly of Boonsboro, Maryland, died on Friday, May 28, 2010.
Born on December 23, 1926, in Clear Spring, Maryland, he was the son of the late James T. and Agnes V. (Grove) Draper, Sr. His wife of 61 years, Irene V. (Seylar) Draper, preceded him in death in August 2007.
Junior began his working career as a farmer, and then was employed with Leroy Myers Masonry Contractor. He later went to work at Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village in Boonsboro, working for 23 years as the maintenance supervisor before retiring.
He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Hagerstown.
He is survived by his son, David E. Draper and his wife, Linda, of Findlay, Ohio; one sister, Anna Jane Kelley of Allentown, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Draper was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Ann (Draper) Powell.
Friends are invited to visit beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the funeral home. Rev. James E. Moore will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery in Clear Spring.
