Mr. James Jacob (J.J.) Cramer, 74, of Bolivar, WV went to be with the Lord Monday, September 3, 2012 at his home under the care of his beloved wife Brenda, family, Hospice and many wonderful friends.
Born November 1, 1937 in Frederick Co., MD he was the son of the late William Franklin Cramer and Catherine Geisbert Cramer.
James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961-64, working as a machinist for a few years. After leaving the Army he worked for King Floor Service before starting his own business under J. J. Cramer in Frederick from 1969-77. Jim then started Potomac Tile & Carpet when in Brunswick from 1978-1981. He then found a home in Jefferson, MD and started Blue Ridge Floors with his lifelong friend Ron Guthrie in 1982. After Ron retired Jim continued until 2004 when he retired and sold the business. Jim was a member of the 1st Little League team of Walkersville in 1951 which GVAA celebrated 60 years most recently in June. He was also a member of the Brunswick Am. Legion Post #96, and worked for a short time recently with the Bolivar Planning Commission. Jim was an avid Nationals and Yankees Fan. He also enjoyed bowling, Nascar and the Washington Redskins and enjoying his retirement.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his two daughters Kelly Foster of Frederick and Lori Jernigan and husband Don of Monrovia; grandchildren Jason and Alex Foster and Justin and Jacob Jernigan; great-granddauther Wynter Foster; brother William Cramer of Walkersville; nephews John Jacob Cramer and wife Susan of Cascade and family and William Cramer and wife Ann of NC. He will also be remembered by many loving and caring friends, as Jim never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Jim will also be remembered by all the special friends and family who have been a part of his special love, far too many to name, but he was quick to love and appreciate each and every one.
He is preceded in death by his nephew Dave Cramer and his step-mother Virginia Cramer.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 7 at 11 AM. Pastor Luther Osment will officiate.
Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
