James Clark

July 21, 1944 — January 24, 2020

James Edward Clark (Jim), of Mount Airy, Maryland passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the age of 75. He was born July 21, 1944 in Norfolk, Virginia to Sheldon Davis Clark and Mercedes Mildred McCampbell.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 24 years, Mary (Grahl) Clark.  Jim is survived by his sister, Nancy (Clark) Vitek, daughter Megan Clark and granddaughter Aubrie Clark, son Michael Clark, daughter-in-law Kate Grubb Clark, and grandson Warren Clark.
Jim graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational High in 1963. He worked for many years at Continental Can Company and subsequently Crown Cork & Seal. After he retired Jim and his wife Mary opened a music store, Face the Music which closed shortly after Mary passed.  Jim then occupied his time as a maintenance man with the Carroll County Public Library system, primarily at the Eldersburg branch.
Jim was a very kind, gentle man who enjoyed making people smile. He enjoyed life on the simpler side and thrived on routine. Although he was unable to serve his country, he was very patriotic and loved both American flag and bald eagle imagery. Jim was known and loved by many and he will truly be missed.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3rd from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy MD 21771.
