Jakob Husch, Jr.

d. September 14, 2014

Jakob Husch, Jr., 82, of Frederick, Maryland, died peacefully in his home Sunday, September 14, 2014.
Jakob was born October 24, 1931, in Mekenyes, Hungary, the son of the late Jakob Husch, Sr. and the late Elisabeth (Schaeffer) Husch. Jakob and his family immigrated to the United States April 22, 1952, arriving in New York harbor. They settled in Bethesda, Maryland, building a house and becoming proud American citizens. Jakob served in the United States Army achieving the rank of Corporal. He married Ingrid Fischer on June 22, 1957. He began a lifelong career in the heating and air conditioning field first as a technician and then as supervisor of a fleet of servicemen. He is survived by his loving wife and three children: Deborah (Gregory) McCarty, Monika (Steven) Lamine and Erich (Elke) Husch; his brother, John Husch; and nine grandchildren.
Jakob’s life epitomized the commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself” as he always sought to meet the needs of those around him. His great love and joy was his family - and if someone needed help, they were family!
Jakob was a faithful member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick where he served as a “Hammer Angel”- making repairs to the church property every Wednesday, as an usher and regularly visiting members who couldn’t make it to services.
Funeral services will be held at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 East Church Street, on Friday, September 19 at 11:00am with a reception to follow in Trunk Hall. Graveside service at Parklawn Memorial Cemetery, Rockville, Maryland will be at 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Evangelical Lutheran Church and Hospice of Frederick.
