Jacqueline (Jackie) Ann Candela, 75, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
Born on September 17, 1947, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph John Candela and Gertrude (Delvy) Candela.
Jackie had a happy childhood and enjoyed many activities, especially with her Girl Scout friends. As a child she lived in Germany and the Philippine Islands.
She enjoyed seeing new places, traveling with her family, and living in several foreign countries.
Jackie attended Hood College, graduating with a degree in history. She enjoyed visiting historic locations and learning about the people and places that shaped our past.
She made a career working for the Federal Government in the Foreign services section of the CIA. She spent several years living in Paris, France and traveling in Europe.
Jackie had a strong interest in architecture, especially the buildings in New York City designed by her grandfather, Rosario Candela. She was also a supporter of historic preservation and was active in the Frederick County Landmarks Foundation. She was smart, kind and friendly and will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by sister, Judith Candela and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private family interment was held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Frederick Health Hospice and Frederick County Landmarks Foundation.
