Mr. Jacob W. “Jake” Dewees, 20, of Emmitsburg, MD., passed away April 17, 2013.
Born November 23, 1992 in Baltimore, MD., he was the son of Shannon Burd Brown and her husband Melvin of Emmitsburg and Phillip Dewees of Boonsboro.
Jake had a big heart and was a very loving, caring and considerate person to all those around him. He was employed at Carriage House Inn in Emmitsburg. He enjoyed Tu Pac, playing basketball, hanging with his friends, and spending time with his brothers. Jake was an avid sports fan and had a great knowledge of all sports.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings Levi Wivell, Jordon Simms, Ben Dewees, Haley Dewees and Sam Dewees, grandparents Richard and Sharon Burd, Sharon Dewees, Brenda Brown, and Melvin and Gail Hebron, aunts and uncles Perry and Mishele Estes, Rick and Brandie Burd, Pamela Beard, Ryan and Brooke Burd and Laura Rush and many close cousins. He will be remembered by his close friends Ben and Dan and his beloved dog “Deebo” and the Carriage House Family. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Irvin Dewees.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont on Sunday, April 21, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, where service will be held Monday, April 22, at 11:00 am with Pastor Janet Cummings officiating.
Interment Blue Ridge Cemetery.
