Jackie Abrecht
February 27, 1929 — April 7, 2018
Jackie E. Cunningham Abrecht, 89, of Frederick, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Frederick.
She was the loving wife of the late Bernard E. Abrecht for 69 years.
She was born in Wingina, VA on February 27, 1929 and moved shortly thereafter to Reisterstown, MD, where she was raised by her mother Bessie O. Godsey Cunningham and her step-father John Dolan. Her father, Jack W. Cunningham died one month before she was born.
Jackie began working at Sears in downtown Frederick in the late 1940s. She retired to raise her family in the early 1950s, devoting her time to her three boys.
Jackie is survived by her sons Kenneth Abrecht and wife Michele, Stephen Abrecht and wife Cindy and Donald Abrecht and wife Joyce Zimmerman; granddaughters Cindy Nordean, husband Chris and sons Sean and Caden, Jennifer Abrecht and son Braeden Speak, Rebecca Somerville and husband Michael, Diana Abrecht, husband Eric Ferguson and sons Nikolas and Owen, Sara Abrecht and daughter Leah Haymaker and Kristine Beaulieu and husband Brian.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jackie was preceded in death by sisters, Doris Platt, Jean Cowan and Linda Taylor and brother John Dolan, Jr.
A gathering of friends and family will take place at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike Frederick, MD 21702 on Thursday April 12, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 am. with services to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be private.
