Mr. Jack C. Simpson 80 , of Frederick, MD, went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Sandy Simpson and of the late Nancy Horman Simpson who died on September 22, 1994.
Born October 31, 1930 he was the son of the late Elmer B. and Lillian Keplinger Simpson.
Mr. Simpson proudly served for 12 years in the United States Army, part of that time during the Korean War. Jack worked as a truck driver for Hahn’s Transportation where he was named the Top Safety Driver. Jack loved horses and dreamed of owning his own ranch one day with his wife Sandy. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, animals and nature. He most recently became a member of the Frederick County Humane Society.
In addition to his wife Jack is survived by his daughters Sherry Apperson and husband Chris of Frederick, MD and Karen J. "Half-Pint" Simpson-Austin and husband Bobby of Little River, SC; grandson Christopher Apperson and 5 additional grandchildren; step-sons Johnny Olvera and Stephanie of Littlestown, PA and their son Issac and Rick Olvera and Jaime of Bonneville, PA and their children Andrew and Bella; sisters Dolly Gist of Los Angeles, CA. and Mrs. Harry "Nina" Scott of Gettysburg, PA.
He was preceded in death by brother Lacey Simpson and sisters Bob Baker and Peggy Basey.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, December 30 from 2-4 and 7-9:00p.m. Where services will be held on Friday, December 31 at 11:00 am. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Apperson, Michael Austin, Jr., Johnny Olvera, Rick Olvera, Chad Smith and Robert Campany. Pastor Bob Bishop Driver will officiate.
