On May 31, 2019, the world was blessed with the arrival of Jack Thomas Huntemann. Although "Captain Jack" was only 12.8 ounces, he was the feistiest, strongest, animated little boy with the biggest heart. This little man made his mark on our world! Some of us have to live well past our 80’s to serve our purpose before we are granted our gate to Heaven... Jack did it in just 25 days. He showed love, belief, motivation, strength, and bravery to each and every person he touched.

On June 25, 2019 Heaven received it's newest angel. Jack Thomas fought bravely and relentlessly to survive, and to be with his family, however, his heart couldn’t beat any longer, and the amazing Holy Cross NICU medical staff was unable to revive him. The loss on earth is real. To not have the opportunity to nurture and watch him grow truly is heartbreaking. Jack, we will forever be grateful to you making this sacrifice, touching our hearts and lives, and for teaching us what true love is.

To our friends, family, community, co-workers, and for those we’ve never even met, thank you is just not enough; all of your prayers, thoughts, financial assistance, visits, gift baskets, flowers, meals, and offers of support are immensely appreciated. The outpouring of love from so many shows the impact Jack certainly made on this world and we wish we could give adequate words to express the gratitude and respect we have for the doctors, nurses and staff at Holy Cross hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. "Captain Jack," your memory will forever live in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Cross Health Foundation,10720 Columbia Pike, MD 20901. Please note "NICU" on check. You may also visit giving.holycrosshealth.org and select "Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

All are welcome to gather in Brunswick, MD, at Stauffer Funeral Home to offer their condolences this Sunday, June 30th at 1:30pm. A memorial service will follow beginning at 2:35pm, "Captain Jack’s" time of birth, and immediately following the service, we will meet at Harper’s Ferry Brewing to celebrate the life of Jack Thomas Huntemann.
