Irvin L. Kinsey Jr (Jake), 68 of Frederick passed away at Frederick Memorial Hospital on Thursday April 30.

Born in Frederick on March 5, 1947 he was the son of the late Irvin L Kinsey and Mary Louise Notnagle Kinsey.

He graduated from Frederick High School and attended and graduated Shepherd College. He enjoyed a career with the telephone company retiring from Verizon after 28 years as a manager. Irvin served in the Army National Guard and then the Army reserves retiring after 20 years of service at the rank of Captain serving in the 698 and 558 units. He was a member of many local organizations including: Frederick County Fish and Game Protection Society-Camp Kanawha, Mason Temple Columbia Lodge # 58, Scottish Rites of Freemasonry SJ, USA 32ND degree, American Legion Post 11, Frederick Elks #684, 29Th Division Association Inc. Creseap Rifles #78, and the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem.

He enjoyed traveling to Williamsburg, VA, Outer Banks, NC. His hobbies were fishing and reading and watching vintage horror pictures with his family.

He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Margaret Kinsey. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Amy Kinsey of Frederick, grandson Dominic Fisher-Kinsey of Frederick, sister Peggy Kinsey Sanders, nephew Joseph Sanders, father in law J. E. Davis, brother in law and sister in law James Davis and Carol Davis of Bunker Hill West Virginia, two aunts and his special cat Frankie.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, May 4th from 6:00-9:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 5th at 1:00pm with Rev. Tim May officiating.

In lieu of flowers monetary contributions can be made to the Dominic Fisher- Kinsey education fund at PNC bank on Rosemont Avenue in Frederick.
