Mr. Irvin Dale Higgs, 75, of Thurmont, MD passed away peacefully at his home Monday, July 16, 2012.
Born April 3, 1937 in Sykesville, MD he was the son of the late Floyd Russell and Willodeen Wilt Higgs.
Mr. Higgs proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Dale enjoyed horse racing, Nascar, Harley motorcycles and fishing. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the MD Terps, Baltimore Ravens and the NY Yankees. Dale also enjoyed spending time with his dog Crickett.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, he is survived by his children Brian Higgs of Charlestown, WV, Belinda Higgs of Charlestown, WV and Rodger Higgs and wife Hollie of Charlestown, WV; grandchildren Madison and Robert HIggs and his brother Russell Glenn Higgs of Harpers Ferry, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister Rosemary Collins, his brother Robert Higgs and his sister-in-law Betty Higgs.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 3 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Pastor Samuel A. Garrett will officiate.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick Co., P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
