Irma Medinger

January 3, 1939 — October 13, 2011

Mrs. Irma Ruth Medinger, 72, of Walkersville, MD.,  passed

away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at theKline Hospital House.

Born January 3, 1939 in Gary Indiana,

she was the daughter of Raymond and Eliza Smoot.

Irma was the Loving wife of Charles Medinger, Devoted
mother of daughters, Jill Hermes(MJ), and
Kate Kramer- Jefferson(Joe), and Grandmother
to Ben Hermes, Olivia and Gentry Jefferson.
Additional family includes Irma's brother,

Walter(Kenny) Smoot and wife Sandra of
Indiana, Chuck's daughter, Denise Baer
(Michael),grandson, Josh, and Chuck's
daughter, Gay Stoner and their respective

families. Irma spent her life serving those
around her. She was proud to be a homemaker,
and always created a beautiful home, along
with a delicious meal for her family and friends.
Irma's life reflected her strong faith in Christ
Jesus, in her generous spirit and tender heart .
She is remembered by many special family
members in Indiana, and so many precious and
long-time friends and neighbors. Among them
are Gail and Bernie Wolcott, Myra and Boyd
Bower, and Peggy and Denton Garst . Irma
shared a close bond with her neighbors in the
Glade Village community. She believed strongly
in pursuing education, and received her
Associate's Degree in Business from Purdue

University North Central . She graduated with
honors in 1987.

Throughout her life, Irma ' was very active in
organizations such as Community Bible Study
(CBS), Gideon's Auxiliary, PEO( Philanthropic
Educational Organization), and church
outreach. Irma will always be remembered by
her sweet smile, her love of family, and her
many special recipes.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral

Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Monday,

October 17, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Services will

be held Tuesday, October 18, at 11:00 am from the

Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Avenue,

Frederick. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery
