Iris Belle Raymond

Iris Belle (Davis) Raymond, 87, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, May 29, 2015, at Somerford Place Assisted Living in Hagerstown.
Born on March 21, 1928, in Fairplay, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary K. (Miller) Davis. Her husband, Edward E. Raymond, preceded her in death on December 9, 1997.
Belle was a 1946 graduate from the Hagerstown High School.
She spent her life as a military wife and homemaker, dedicated to her loving family.
Belle was an active lifelong member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Boonsboro.
Her family wishes to express appreciation to the caregivers and staff at Somerford Place for their loving care. The family also would like to thank Hospice of Washington County.
Belle is survived by one son, Russ Raymond and wife Julie of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Laura B. Raymond and husband Tom Cushing of Adams, New York, and Sally Spickler and husband Gregory of Sharpsburg, Maryland; two brothers, Burt Davis of Pennsylvania, and James "Mac" Davis and wife Mary Jane of West Virginia; brother-in-law, Gene Raymond and wife Pat of Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Pansy Davis of Sharpsburg and Marge Davis of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharon Raymond; one sister, Patty Hammond; four brothers, Glen, Warren, Gene, and Don Davis; one brother-in-law, Jean Hammond; two sisters-in-law, Star Davis and Lillian Davis; and two nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015, in the Historic Church of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 18313 Lappans Road in Boonsboro. Rev. Anne O. Weatherholt will be the celebrant. Belle will be laid to rest immediately following the service in the adjacent church cemetery next to her husband.
