Irene Stauffer

Irene Stauffer, 91, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Doey's House in Hagerstown, MD. She was the wife of the late John David Stauffer, who predeceased her in 1996. They were married in 1970.

Born on May 9, 1933, in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ora Victor Hanshew and Martha Ellen (Twenty) Henshew.

Irene was a 1951 graduate of Frederick High School. Following graduation, she attended Visitation Academy and obtained a Certificate in Business.

She worked at Ox Fibre Brush Co. and Economy Oil -Weil Brothers. Irene was a member of Edgewood First Church of God in Frederick.

She enjoyed bowling, working on puzzles, and watching the Baltimore Orioles baseball games.

She is survived by step-son, Michael Stauffer (Sherry) of Middletown, and their daughters, Jessica Miles (Kevin) Middletown and Aurora and Cody, and Danielle Stauffer of Frederick; step-daughter, Debbie Zimmerman (Tom) of Waynesboro, PA, and their child/son, Chad Zimmerman (Lori) of Thurmont, and Alison Zimmerman of Pensacola, FL.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a step-son, Chris Stauffer of Frederick.

At Irene's request, services will be private. Donations in Irene's memory may be made to your local Hospice Care facility.

The family would like to thank the staff for the compassionate care received at the Meritus Medical Center and Doey's House in Hagerstown MD.
