Irene Clarice Marler (Kaetzel) died peacefully at the Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home on July 6th, 2018 in Mapleville, Maryland at the age of 82. She is survived by her husband Blestle “Joe” Marler, brother Keith Kaetzel, both of Hagerstown, and son Dr. David F. Marler of New Port Richey, Florida. She also has three grandchildren
Irene was born on June 12th 1936 in Hagerstown as the daughter of the late George Floyd and Katharine Kaetzel (Shewbridge) of Gapland, and is preceded in death by her sister Audrey Sier.
She graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1954 and subsequently attended the Hagerstown Secretarial Academy. She worked for many years as an executive secretary at Fairchild-Hiller in Hagerstown and later retired as a homemaker. She lived the remainder of her life completely committed to her spouse, son, and grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday July 14th at 11 AM at the Boonsboro Cemetery. Pastor Paul Harne of the Virginia Avenue Church of God will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Irene’s life.
